The American Red Cross is saluting the accomplishments of Dr. Charles Drew and Dr. Jerome Holland during Black History Month.
Those two African American Red Cross leaders made a lasting contribution to the Red Cross and for patients in need of lifesaving blood products. The organization is urging others this month to donate blood, platelets or plasma and leave a legacy of their own by helping a patient in need.
Upcoming blood donation opportunities will occur in the city of Manitowoc on Thursday, February 18th from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2426 North Rapids Road, and in the Village of Cleveland on March 2nd between noon and 5 PM at Kunes Country RV, 14-369 Westview Road.
Appointments to give blood can be made by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
