100+Women Who Care of Manitowoc County have launched their “For the Love” virtual giving-
campaign on February 1st to help support various local non-profit organizations.
The group of women is comprised of those who share a common desire to give back and inspire local philanthropy in their community. The Manitowoc Chapter was founded last September by Paula Fox, Julie Wells-Ribley, and Sue Bown. Sue explained that she attended a 100 Women Who Care meeting in Michigan and “saw first hand the impact one organized hour of philanthropic giving can make & was inspired to share that gift with Manitowoc County.” Bown went on to say 2020 opened our eyes to the huge gap in meeting the needs of our community.
Domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, hunger, youth and adult depression are all on the rise. The local arts, mental health organizations, and interest groups for both children and adults are in need. Bringing this group to Manitowoc can help change that trajectory. The group currently has 138 contributing members and meets four times a year with a goal to have 100+ women join the group and for each member to donate $100 or more at each quarterly meeting.
