A Manitowoc man is facing charges after a physical altercation with a woman.
Officers responded to the Parkview Haven Apartment Complex on the 1300 block of North 8th Street just prior to 1:45 pm on Friday (February 5th), and upon arrival found a man pounding on an apartment door, calling the female inside derogatory terms.
The man was led away while another officer spoke with the victim. She told the officers that she had met the 65-year-old man at Piggly Wiggly, and that he offered to help her sell some items online. When they got back to her apartment, the suspect allegedly leaned in for a kiss, which the victim turned down. The man then became irate and began to beat her.
The man was arrested, but while the handcuffs were being put on him, he continuously pulled his arms away.
The man is now facing charges of Substantial Battery, Resisting Arrest, and Disorderly Conduct.
