With the help of JusticeDrive and the public, investigators in Manitowoc County Wisconsin may soon be able to use cutting-edge DNA technologies to investigate the unsolved deaths of two newborns that occurred over 50 years ago.
In March of 1970, a newborn baby girl was found in a bag in the parking lot of the Two Rivers city hall just before 6:00 A.M. The infant, which was full term, was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
A few months later in December of 1970, the frozen body of another newborn baby girl was found outside Goodwill Industries in Neenah when employees unloaded a trailer. The trailer contained donated items that had been picked up the previous day from outdoor collection boxes in Manitowoc and the Two Rivers area.
Funds raised through the JusticeDrive campaign will enable the agency to work with Parabon NanoLabs, a DNA company in Reston Virginia to hopefully make progress in these cases.
