The downtown area of Manitowoc has seen some huge growth over the past several years. From the addition of new businesses to the new artistic touches, Downtown Manitowoc is developing into a major tourist location.
One issue many people have been wondering about is how parking has been affected. SeehaferNews.com spoke with Common Council President Eric Sitkiewitz, who explained that the City had a parking study done in the area, to determine the need for any additional parking.
A plan was created from that study, which Sitkiewitz said has been very helpful.
“One of the real strengths of the plan is that within a short walk of a block or two, every location has access to unlimited parking,” he explained. “The City also has many service lots that local businesses can lease for permanent spots as well.”
He also said that having ample parking has helped the development of the area.
With the development of the River Point District on the horizon, it is likely that even more parking will be available in the semi-near future.
