66 people were rescued from some ice floes in three different locations around Door County yesterday (February 4th).
Three calls for help were received by the U.S. Coast Guard before 10:00 AM according to reports, so crews were dispatched to the areas around Sherwood Point, Sandy Bay Beach, and Little Harbor.
Cracks had developed between the shore and these groups of people, causing the need for rescue.
No injuries were reported in any of the rescue efforts.
Door County sheriff’s officials, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and local fire and EMS crews helped with the rescues.
