An Appleton man will be spending some time in federal prison after he was found guilty of robbing a credit union in 2019.
21-year-old Xengxai Yang was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being found guilty of Armed Bank Robbery, Brandishing a Short-Barreled Rifle During a Crime of Violence and Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle back in October.
Yang reportedly entered a credit union on the west side of Appleton in March of 2019 and pulled a shotgun on the teller demanding money. Yang used cable ties to restrain two employees and fled on foot. He was apprehended a block away and told police he “decided to try something new today.”
