Damage is estimated at $60,000 to a single-family home in Two Rivers after catching fire yesterday afternoon.
Multiple agencies responded to the call at 3115 School Street around 3:45 p.m. Upon arrival, Two Rivers Fire Department personnel identified the source of the fire came from the basement where they encountered thick smoke along with marginal heat and flames plus thick smoke on the first floor.
The blaze was extinguished and ventilated within fifteen minutes. No one was home at the time; however, a family cat was found deceased on the first floor. No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
