Two people are dead after a home invasion and standoff Wednesday afternoon in Washington County.
Authorities responded to a report in Kewaskum of a man forcing his way into a home and demanding keys to a car. A short time later a neighbor reported hearing gunshots and saw an armed man walking toward their home.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and exchanged gunfire with the suspect before he fled on foot.
Investigators say a drone located the man and officers found him dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Other officers found another man dead outside the first home.
A witness told police the resident was shot by the armed suspect.
