Two Milwaukee aldermen are calling the efforts of the city’s Public Works Department to clear snow from the streets “unacceptable.”
Khalif Rainey and Russell Stamper issued a joint statement Tuesday calling city streets “a mess” 72 hours after the snow began falling.
Rainey and Stamper said Milwaukee residents are forced to use their own shovels and snow blowers to do the job that they say D-P-W apparently isn’t up to doing.
Commissioner of Public Works Jeff Polenske issued his own statement saying the winter storm “was anything but normal.”
Polenske pointed out it was the deepest snow seen in southeastern Wisconsin in a decade.
Snow is expected to fall in Milwaukee again Thursday.
