While Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is typically seen in military members, or public service officers such as police, fire, or medical, it can happen to anyone.
For example, the innocent bystanders at the Fox Cities Mall during the shooting event could easily experience PTSD, as they witnessed a traumatic event.
The Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team and some other Fox Valley organizations are prepared to assist those who were there and make sure they are handling it well, mentally. 18 volunteers from the Victim Crisis Response Team were on hand at the Mall, but are continuing their work in the aftermath.
