Winter storm watch in effect from late Wednesday night through Friday morning.
Expect a wintry mix of snow that may be heavy at times. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches is possible. Winds can reach gusts of 35 mph late Thursday night into Friday.
The watch is in effect for portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Wisconsin, which includes Manitowoc County.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow can significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact Thursday commutes, and possibly the Friday morning commute as well.
Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.
