Coach Tony Granato’s Wisconsin women’s hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Michigan State Saturday, skating to a 4-1 win.
Linus Wissbach put Wisconsin on the board first at 7:05 of the second period. After the Spartans tied the score early in the third period, Ty Pelton-Byce and Cole Caufield scored on power plays to put the game out of reach.
Caufield added an empty-net goal with less than a minute to go.
The Badgers (11-and-7, 9-and-5 Big Ten) have won five of their last six games.
The Badgers take on number-one Minnesota on the road next weekend. The first time the two rival teams met, Wisconsin earned a split.
