
A Manitowoc man is facing charges after fleeing the scene of a traffic crash over the weekend.
Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Marshal Street in Manitowoc at around 11:50 PM on Saturday (January 30th). The responding officer located an abandoned vehicle in the westbound lane, and a toppled over a traffic signal.
The vehicle owner left his wallet in the vehicle, so officers were able to quickly identify a suspect. An officer followed footprints, which led to a home in the 1400 block of Columbus Street, where they located the suspect.
The 19-year-old male was taken to the police station, where a field sobriety test was administered. The man was determined to have been under the influence and was arrested.
As of the latest report from the Manitowoc Police Department, the man has only been charged with three counts of Felony Bail Jumping, but more charges are likely coming.
