A 19-year-old Manitowoc man remains in the County Jail after he was taken into custody over the weekend after fleeing the scene of a traffic crash.
Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa set bail at $250 cash for Demetrus J. Salman on three charges of Bail Jumping with more possible charges pending.
An MPD Officer spotted a toppled over traffic signal and an abandoned vehicle in the westbound lane in the 2600 block of Marshall Street late Saturday night. Salman left his wallet in the vehicle and with the help of footprints in the snow authorities located him at a residence in the 1400 block of Columbus Street and took him into custody after having been found “under the influence.”
Conditions of Bail are that Salman not-operate a vehicle without a valid license and maintain “absolute sobriety.”
His initial appearance is scheduled for February 8th at 1:30 p.m.
