High school is supposed to get students ready for the real world, and the Luxemburg-Casco School District is attempting to do just that with a new program.
The School District has already implemented an alternative high school program and has plans on expanding it with a Diesel Tech program.
Many people have voiced the displeasure about the way high schools are structured, namely how they require young adults to learn the same, even if they don’t learn as well as other students the traditional way.
This new program, which is done in partnership with NWTC, is a good look at a way to get students ready for the workforce.
Students in the program can simultaneously work on their high school diploma and a one-year technical diploma in Diesel Mechanics.
