There was a small fire at a home in Sturgeon Bay yesterday morning (January 27th).
Reports indicate that the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department was called just after 2:00 AM, and crews were dispatched to the home on Alabama Street.
The homeowner had already put the fire out with a bucket of water but asked the firefighters to check out her pellet stove, which had caused the fire.
The crews determined that a fitting had failed and opened enough to allow enough heat to escape and ignite the floor and carpeting.
No injuries were reported, and the damage was limited.
