Theo John’s dunk in the final minute of regulation sent Marquette’s game at Providence into overtime Wednesday night, but the Friars owned the extra frame in a 72-63 decision.
Back-to-back losses drop the Golden Eagles’ overall record to 8-and-8, including 4-and-6 in the Big East Conference.
Koby McEwen led the way for Marquette with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. D-J Carton and Justin Lewis both had 12 points.
David Dukes’ 31 points led the Friars.
Marquette’s next action is Tuesday when Butler visits.
