In the COVID-19 Update from the Manitowoc County Health Department yesterday (January 27th), there wasn’t much change from the previous day.
Only 16 new cases were added, but only 15 new recoveries were reported as well. This leaves the pandemic totals at 6,855 cases, 5,938 recoveries, and 857 active cases.
Knowing that patients are only listed as recovered after 30 days have passed, it is likely that there will not be many new recoveries in today’s report either. 30 days ago, only 7 new cases were added, meaning it is likely that there will only be 7 recoveries in today’s report.
The biggest change in yesterday’s report came in the hospitalization rate. That number fell by 12 down to 76, which is the fewest number of people who have been hospitalized for COVID since that number began being tracked in mid-November.
Also of note, the percentage of ICU beds in use fell three percentage points to 74%, and the death toll remained stagnant at 60.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported moderate changes yesterday as well.
28 new cases were added, while 35 people were added to the recovered column, which brings their totals up to 12,386 cases, 11,711 recoveries, and 563 active cases.
They also did not report any new deaths either, leaving that total at 112.
