A federal grand jury has indicted a 27-year-old Kenosha man for assaulting a police officer during the riots last August.
Ashton Howard is charged with obstructing a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder and unlawful transport of firearms as a convicted felon.
If he’s found guilty, Howard would face a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors say the officer was helping remove a damaged squad car on August 23rd when Howard threw a heavy object at him and knocked the officer unconscious.
