An Appleton man has been convicted of killing a child and attempting to kill his girlfriend.
26-year-old Demetrius L. Williams was in Outagamie County Court on Tuesday (January 26th), where he pleaded no contest on charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. A third charge of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide of an Unborn Child was dismissed but read into the record.
Williams was arrested last February after he reportedly stabbed three-year-old Zyana S. Corbin to death, and attacking the girl’s mother Tiana, who was pregnant at the time. Zyana died from her injuries.
When asked for his motives behind the attack, Williams said he was upset because Tiana no longer wanted to be with him.
He will be back in court for sentencing on March 26th.
