The coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of Milwaukee’s Pridefest for a second straight year.
The announcement was made in a news release this week. The festival was supposed to run from June 3rd through the 6th at the Henry W. Maier Festival Grounds in Milwaukee.
Organizers said they couldn’t move forward with the festival planning without knowing how and when a vaccine will be distributed equally. Festival president Wes Shaver says, “We cannot risk the health and well-being of our community by putting the festival ahead of the people it serves.”
Alternate dates for the LGBTQ event could be chosen later in the year.
