An 18-year-old New Holstein man is free on a recognizance bond after allegedly kicking in his mother’s door at a Manitowoc residence late Monday morning.
Colton James Leino is charged with Criminal Damage to Property with a Domestic Violence Order along with single Counts of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
MPD Officers were dispatched to Leino’s mother’s home on the 700 block of Albert Drive and witnessed and photographed the damage inflicted to her home. She said her son kicked in the door because she would not let him take his dog because he hadn’t been properly taking care of it plus he had a warrant out for his arrest.
Earlier in the day, Leino had been pulled over by Two Rivers Police on an unrelated traffic violation. Both agencies corroborated together and took Leino into custody.
The lone condition of bail, as set by Judge Jerilyn Dietz, is that he has “no assaultive” contact with his mother and his initial appearance is scheduled for February 15th at 1:30 p.m.
