The Manitowoc County Health Department has received a vast increase in their number of COVID-19 vaccines.
Health Officer Stephanie Lambert told SeehaferNews.com that they were allotted 1,200 vaccines for this week and are currently scheduling appointments for eligible citizens. This will be the first week that adults 65 and older will be able to sign up for a vaccine, and they join frontline healthcare workers, residents in long-term care facilities, and police and fire personnel.
As for how to make an appointment, Emergency Services Director Travis Waack explained that “Information on how to make an appointment will be on the County Website. The County website is really the best place to go for all that vaccine-related information.”
On top of scheduling a vaccination, Waack also said, “You can also sign up to receive updates from Manitowoc County when we know those appointments are posted.”
Waack also said that workers at the Health Department have been inundated with calls, and asked that those who have access to the internet use co.manitowoc.wi.us/vaccine, and only call them if it is absolutely necessary.
