As we reported earlier today, Manitowoc County received 1,200 COVID-19 vaccines for this week, which is a huge leap from the 200 they got last week.
When Emergency Services Director Travis Waack mentioned this during his COVID update this morning on WOMT and WCUB Radio, you could hear a sense of relief in his voice. He reported that citizens “signed up in mass” to get an appointment to get the vaccine. In fact, all 1,200 slots were filled within an hour of the posting.
Those looking to get on the list for the next allotment, Waack said, “go to the County website. There is a vaccine link there where you can sign up to get notifications when we get more appointments. When you get that notification, you can log on and book yourself an appointment for next week.”
For those who do not have a computer with internet access, or if you do not have any other way to get on the County website, Waack suggested you “call the health department at 683-4155, but please be patient, and understand that they are getting a lot of phone calls right now.”
All vaccine information, including a form to receive a notification when appointments become available, can be found at co.manitowoc.wi.us/vaccine.
