The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is adding another challenge in keeping the blood supply strong in Wisconsin.
Laura McGuire, the Media Coordinator with the American Red Cross, said they are urging healthy individuals to make an appointment to give blood or platelets this month or next.
There are three blood donation opportunities in Manitowoc County coming up.
The first is in the Village of Mishicot on Thursday, January 28th from 1:00 until 6:00 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 325 Randolph Street.
Then, in the Manitowoc area next Monday, February 1st from 1:30 to 6:30 PM, you can donate at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 11-303 Wehausen Road.
Finally, Thursday, February 18th between 2:00 and 6:00 PM, donors are encouraged to donate at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 2426 North Rapids Road.
All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients.
A blood donor card or driver’s license or, two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
