Two sources are announcing the availability of COVID-19 vaccinations for additional seniors beginning next week. Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and the Manitowoc County Healthy Department are both saying they will make the shots available to adults 65 and older, although the Health Department cautions that the vaccine supply is limited and they expect the appointment slots to be filled quickly.
County Health officer Stephanie Lambert says eligible people can sign up through the county’s website. HFM chief nursing officer Tom Veeser also said appointments can be made by visiting their website and the registration will close when all available sessions are filled. There is no cost for the shots.
The new eligibility is in addition to frontline health care workers, residents in long term health care facilities and police and fire personnel, who had previously been able to get the shots.
