It was recently announced by the State of Wisconsin that the vaccination window has been expanded to include people aged 65 years and older.
Stephanie Lambert, the Manitowoc County Health Officer, called this great news, as the older population has been hit hard, however, “The vaccine supply is still extremely limited, and will take some time for all eligible individuals to get the vaccine.”
The limited supply is not because of a lack of trying on the County’s part, but rather due to the State not giving the County the full allotment they ask for, as Lambert explained.
“The County is prepared to increase our vaccination capacity, but we rely on the State of Wisconsin to provide us vaccine supplies,” Lambert told SeehaferNews.com, “Despite high demand, the State has been unable to meet County requests for vaccines.”
Lambert said the County will continue to request vaccines, but in the meantime asks citizens to remain patient.
