
Manitowoc Public Utilities has issued a news release about a Scam Alert.
According to Cindy Carter, C.P.A. and Senior Manager Business Services, a Manitowoc business received an email, as well as two phone calls from a person demanding the business make an “express payment” at Kwik-Trip or Wal-Mart, or the power would be “disconnected in 10-minutes.”

MPU is reminding customers that they NEVER will request payment at a gas station or retail store.
Some scammers also request a pre-paid credit card or reloadable charge card to avoid disconnection. C
