A Wausau father is scheduled to make a Marathon County Court appearance today to face charges he caused his infant child’s fatal brain injury.
Ronnie D. Lofton was taken into custody last Friday.
He and the baby’s mother brought the three-month-old into Aspirus Wausau Hospital on January 12th. Doctors there rushed the baby to Marshfield Children’s Hospital – where it died five days later.
An autopsy is scheduled to be done on the victim today.
Authorities say they initiated a criminal investigation shortly after the baby arrived at the hospital in Wausau.
