The Manitowoc County Health Department announces that those aged 65 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Monday, January 25th.
The United States Census Bureau estimates that they’re over 16,000 people in Manitowoc County over the age of 65 however County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert says that they won’t know how many doses they’ll receive until the weekend.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack says “This is a marathon, not a sprint. We will continue operating clinics until everyone in Manitowoc County has been offered a vaccine.”
The County’s allocated doses are expected to arrive next Monday or Tuesday with all Health Department officials asking for citizens to be patient throughout the process. Details on how to sign up will be posted weekly following dose allocation notification from the state.
