It’s no secret that drug use and addiction is a big problem in almost every area of the country, and that includes here in Eastern Wisconsin.
In fact, DHS Secretary-Designee Andrea Palm has called the problem an epidemic in the state. In an attempt to battle this problem, 23 county agencies and five tribal nations have been awarded shares of $9 million to help provide treatment services.
Manitowoc County received over $800,000, while Sheboygan County got $153,000. The money was split based on the level of need for treatment services along with the types of services needed.
