134 boys & girls basketball teams across the state move-up an entire division as part of a revised WIAA Playoff structure.
Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the reduced number of schools willing to host games, and 39 teams opting-out of the playoffs, the state association decided to split its’ 5-divisions equally with 89-schools in Division-1, 90 in Divisions-2 & 3, and 89-each in D-4-and-‘5.
Schools moving up from Division-3 to D’-2 include Two Rivers, Sheboygan Falls & Denmark. Howards Grove & Cedar Grove-Belgium go from Division-4 to-D-‘3, Reedsville Hilbert and Sheboygan Lutheran move from Division-5 to Division-4 under the revised format and, Green Bay Southwest & Pulaski go from D-‘2 to D-‘1.
In an effort to reduce travel and cut down on the potential spread of the coronavirus, all regionals will be split into 5 or 6 team pods with the higher-seeded teams in each regional hosting game.
Following that round of play, the 4-remaining teams in each division will be re-seeded with the higher-seeded squad again hosting at the sectional level.
The State Tournament will likely be held at multiple sites.
