The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 67-year-old man who apparently drove off a bridge on the High Falls Flowage Monday night.
The man has been identified as Floyd R. Kriescher.
County dispatchers say they got calls about a truck driving off a private bridge near the Pine Acres Resort at about 8:00 PM.
Emergency responders from Marinette County, Twin Bridge Rescue, and the Town of Stephenson Fire Department pulled Kriescher out of the water, but efforts to resuscitate him failed.
Investigators say the truck had made efforts to get up onto the shore, but it went through the ice instead.
