Veteran offensive tackle Jared Veldheer is making N-F-L history by signing with the Green Bay Packers.
With All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari sidelined with a knee injury, the Packers are bringing the 33-year-old Veldheer on board for some offensive line depth. He could start Saturday against the Rams, but that’s not official yet.
The Packers picked him up after Indianapolis lost its wild-card playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. That means Veldheer will become the first player in league history to play postseason games for two different playoff teams in the same season.
Veldheer also started for the Packers at tackle in last year’s N-F-C divisional playoff win over Seattle when Green Bay brought him out of retirement.
The Colts also signed him out of retirement when they added him to the practice squad in December.
