The Manitowoc Public Library is preparing to host an online panel discussion regarding the impact of the drug court.
The virtual event is scheduled for Monday, January 18th, at 6:00 PM, and is entitled “Community Impact of Drug Court in Manitowoc County”.
The Drug Court was created three years ago to help those who are struggling with addiction.
Judge Robert Dewane and Drug Court Coordinator, Jason Latva, along with three current and former participants, will be on the panel to share their experiences. The panel will discuss the evidenced-based ways in which both the individuals and Manitowoc County as a whole have benefitted from the program.
This online discussion will be live-streamed on both MPL’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary) and its YouTube channel. This forum is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Manitowoc County, Manitowoc Public Library, RUTH (Responding with Understanding, Truth & Hope, a Manitowoc County Interfaith Justice Group) and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
