While there is no snow in the immediate forecast, Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley is reminding citizens that it is their responsibility to keep the sidewalk clear in front of their homes.
In a newsletter to the city, he stated, “Snow must be removed within 24 hours following the end of a precipitation event. If you own a corner lot, that responsibility extends to the gutter line at the end of any corner sidewalk ramps.”
Those who fail to keep up on this responsibility can be fined by the city and could receive a bill for the cost of the City clearing the sidewalk. Buckley did say that that is not their goal, but rather to “to keep the sidewalks safe for use by residents of all ages, year-round.”
Citizens are asked to report any sidewalk concerns to the City Manager’s Office, by calling 920-793-5532 or email lkuehn@two-rivers.org.
