It’s only January, of course, but the staff at Hartman’s Town and Country Greenhouse in Manitowoc is quite busy getting ready for the 2021 growing season.
Tom Hartman tells SeehaferNews.com spring is just around the corner for them. “We are getting busier every week,” he said. “Pretty much everything we sell, we grow ourselves and it takes some time to do that. We’re also seeding for different items every week.”
Hartman explained they get a lot of plant cuttings in from a number of different places.
Geraniums and other flowers come to their greenhouse as unrooted cuttings, and they have to start it in a tray. It takes about 6-weeks to root and from there it’ll be planted in other containers.
Hartman added they were very busy last week as cuttings started arriving at their northside greenhouse.
