A former Wisconsin Badger defensive back is moving forward on his professional career.
The Indianapolis Colts have signed Nick Nelson to a reserve-future contract.
Nelson played 14 games for the Badgers during the 2017 season. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Raiders and moved between the roster and the practice squad the last two seasons.
He played 12 games with the Raiders, including three starts, producing 20 tackles, one pass defended, and one fumble recovery.
He joins former Badger teammate Jonathan Taylor in Indianapolis and will try to make an N-F-L active roster for the first time since 2019.
