The Manitowoc County Health Department began administering COVID-19 vaccines to patient-facing healthcare workers yesterday.
According to Emergency Services Department Director Travis Waack, 120 such workers, which include EMS personnel and those not affiliated with any healthcare systems, were vaccinated, and an additional 180 are scheduled to be vaccinated today (Wednesday) and Thursday.
The individuals working within healthcare systems are being vaccinated by the state, and the assisted living homes have contracts with Walgreens and CVS.
