A 19-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend.
Officers were sent to a home in the 2500 block of Western Avenue just after 10:30 AM after the victim’s mother called the Manitowoc Police Department claiming her daughter was being abused by her boyfriend.
The victim told police that she had been helping the suspect with downloading an app on his phone when he told her to kill herself and to shut up. He then reportedly charged at her, punched her multiple times, and strangled her with both hands.
The victim also said that the man had punched her earlier in the week as well.
He has been charged with Strangulation, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Violence enhancers, along with three counts each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
