The A-C-L-U of Wisconsin has submitted testimony objecting to Kenosha’s plans to implement citywide curfews and using other measures to restrict free speech.
City and county officials are trying to get ready for possible marches and rioting when a charging decision is issued concerning the August police shooting of Jacob Blake.
The A-C-L-U reminded the Kenosha Common Council Monday that during those demonstrations law enforcement officials violated the rights of the demonstrators.
It calls the reaction a “heavy-handed response” that made the situation worse.
