Senior co-captain Brette Pettet guided a loose puck in front of the Minnesota State goal into the net to give Wisconsin a 1-0 win Sunday afternoon.
That ensured a weekend sweep for the Badgers women’s hockey team, the first of the shortened season.
Wisconsin won Saturday’s game at Mankato 3-2.
Goaltender Kennedy Blair stopped 21 shots to rack up her second shutout in four games. Blair is tied for the national lead in shutouts.
The Badgers finally play on the home ice Friday and Saturday against Ohio State.
Wisconsin is expected to hold on to its number-one ranking in the polls after the sweep of the Mavericks.
