
2020 may be over, but it got one more jab in on the way out.
The Manitowoc County Health Department reported 70 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday, which brings the pandemic total up to 6,076 cases. There were also 53 recoveries, which means that a total of 4,927 people have recovered, and 1,098 people are still actively fighting the virus.
Also, the number of people hospitalized remained stagnant at 100, and the percentage of ICU beds in use in Northeast Wisconsin up to 81% a rise of 4%.
The month of December ended with 1,064 new cases being reported in Manitowoc County, which is an average of just over 34 new cases per day. 1,831 people recovered this past month, which is an average of 59 recoveries per day.
The death toll rose by 14 throughout the month, making it the second deadliest month so far. The deadliest month was November when 21 people died.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public did not issue a new report, and will not have another one until Monday, January 4th.
