Many people didn’t think this day would come, but it finally has arrived. The end of 2020 is only a few hours away, and that in itself is cause for celebration.
While you may be celebrating a bit differently this year, one aspect of the day remains the same, if you plan on drinking, be sure to have a safe ride home.
According to the National Safety Council, 39% of all fatalities in 2018 on New Year’s Day were a direct result of a drunk driver.
The Tavern League of Wisconsin, along with their branch in Manitowoc County, does offer a Safe Ride program, to make sure patrons make it home safe. If you are at a bar tonight, and you are not in a condition to drive, simply ask the bartender if they are a member of the Tavern League, and if they are, they can call the Safe Ride program to help you out.
2020 has been a rough year, but there is no reason to end it with an OWI, or even worse, with an accident that could kill someone.
