No injuries resulted from a house fire in Two Rivers Monday afternoon.
Two Rivers Fire Department crews responded to a single-family structure just before 2:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of 10th street.
The engine crew entered the home encountering heavy black smoke and heat coming from the first floor. Crews quickly extinguished and ventilated the blaze that was determined to have originated in the living room.
There is significant fire and smoke damage to the living room floor and kitchen with additional smoke and heat damage to second-floor living areas.
The lone occupant was not home at the time and the family dog plus two rabbits were unharmed.
Damage is estimated to be $25,000. Other agencies assisting on scene were Manitowoc Fire and Rescue-Mishicot Ambulance and Two Rivers Department of Public Works.
