In anticipation of the heavy snowfall the Lakeshore is expected to receive this evening, the City of Manitowoc has announced that the winter parking ban is now in effect.
This means that no parking will be allowed on winter parking ban streets between 1:00 am and 6:00 am. Vehicles parked on the street will receive a $50 citation.
In Two Rivers, the ban has not been officially announced yet, but City Manager Greg Buckley said “We will be announcing an end in the delay in the enforcement of the City Parking Ban. There will not be tickets issued this evening, but we would ask people to please get their vehicles off the street for the normal winter parking ban hours of 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM.”
Buckley said that from this day through the end of winter the ban will be in effect, barring any major thaws or melts.
