
Manitowoc County Emergency Services Director Travis Waack announces that the County has partnered with Holy Family Memorial to begin administering COVID-19 Vaccines.
Those eligible for this first phase include personnel from area ambulance services and County Staff responsible for operating future vaccination clinics. Among those receiving the vaccine Monday were Manitowoc Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Karl Koch, Travis Waack, Manitowoc County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert, and Mishicot Fire Chief and Ambulance Medic Mike Koeppel.
Others to be vaccinated Monday were Manitowoc County employees who will be on the front lines delivering the vaccine to other essential workers and the general public.
Health Officer Stephanie Lambert says “Providing the vaccine to the general public will be a historic undertaking in public health and it’s critical our staff remain healthy and able to perform this important work.” Travis Waack adds they hope to administer up to 100 vaccines to paramedics and EMT’s working on area ambulance services through this partnership reiterating these workers have exposure every day transporting COVID-19 patients to area hospitals which is in Waack’s words “is truly a critical service to the community.”
