It was a scary scene in Green Bay yesterday afternoon, as police were involved in a standoff with an armed individual.
The yet-unnamed suspect was seen driving in the area of W. Walnut Street and Ashland Avenue and a pursuit began. The pursuit ended quickly in the same area, and the male suspect exited the vehicle and fired his weapon at police, who returned fire.
Crisis negotiators and SWAT were called to the scene while officers went door to door telling people to shelter in place or leave the area.
The negotiators were able to get the man to surrender, with no injuries reported to the suspect of the three officers involved. Those officers have been placed on administrative assignments, per department policy.
The names of all involved have not been released. More information is expected to be released sometime today.
