Shoreline Hometown Credit Union has released the numbers from their Salvation Army Season Pass Pin program, and the numbers are astonishing.
According to President and CEO Nathan Grossenbach, not only did they reach their $5,000 goal, which Shoreline matched, they raised an additional $3,000, making their total donation from that program to the Manitowoc County Salvation Army $13,000.
Grossenbach said Shoreline began teaming up with the Salvation Army 7 years ago.
“We found out that we are going toward a cashless society because people don’t always carry cash or coin to drop into the bucket,” he explained. “The Salvation Army wanted to put together a program that allows you to still donate, and to show off your donation.”
On top of the Season Pass Pins, Shoreline also competed in the Battle of the Financials contest and won by donating an additional $2,083.
While Grossenbach is proud of his team, he also said the win is bigger than any of the banking institutions.
“We compete, don’t get me wrong…but at the end of the day we are here to support the community,” he said. “That’s every one of those financials that took part in that. When you have that altruistic goal to do that, great things happen.”
As for next year, Grossenbach said they have seen the number of donations grow each and every year, and hope to see that continue next holiday season.
